50% whole bunch vinification and 50% new wood two out of four barrels. A lovely mid crimson purple. The whole bunches with their rose petal perfume create a stylish bouquet. All nicely integrated with the core deep fruit. White pepper at the back while the power from the vineyard tries to take over from the elegance of the vinification. Together they combine in a very long finish. Potentially superb with an ageing potential belied by the immediate charm.

An intensely floral especially rose petal-suffused nose speaks of a ripe mix of red currant black cherry and whiffs of kirsch and warm earth. Yet again the medium-bodied flavors possess a gorgeous texture with good power that seems to build on the dusty compact serious and youthfully austere finale that also displays a touch of warmth.
