Though pure offering cherry currant and strawberry flavors tinged by rose this red feels closed up locked tight by a firm tannic structure. Remains long and fresh however leaving an echo of red fruit and a mouthwatering impression. Best from 2027 through 2043. 1625 cases made 550 cases imported.
Don?t worry about the light color. This is a very fine Barbaresco with sleek tannins and pretty frui
The 2019 Barbaresco Martinega is lifted with citrus ripe orange clove and cinnamon. It is medium-bodied and elegant with fine tannins and freshness and is more about mineral texture than density. Long with incense raspberry and dried red flowers its tannins are more present on the finish but still refined. Drink 2024-2040. (Drink between 2024-2040)
The 2019 Barbaresco Martinenga is bright and punchy. Sweet cherry dried flowers orange peel mint and cinnamon are nicely lifted throughout. There's terrific purity to the red-toned Nebbiolo fruit. Give this mid-weight Barbaresco a few years to soften the somewhat nervy angular contours that are present today. (Drink between 2024-2034)
This opens with aromas of French oak toasted nut and eucalyptus. The lean linear palate reflects the nose featuring coconut oak driven spice and roasted coffee bean alongside close-grained drying tannins that clench the finish.
