Precise textural and long with aromas of dried thyme cherries forest berries dried herbs and crushed black pepper. It?s medium- to full-bodied with fine firm tannins and fresh acidity. Lively and agile with a succulent core of sour cherries and white pepper at the center. A crushed stone character brings a mineral touch to it and onto the long focused finish. Try after 2029.
Supple in texture and laced with cherry raspberry rose hip mineral and mint flavors this red is deftly balanced vibrant and intense. Flashes of licorice and tar add depth as this cruises to the long detailed finish. A base of chalky tannins lends support. Best from 2027 through 2046.
Youthful and ripe ruby red in color the 2020 Barolo Villero has a fantastic bouquet of pure ripe raspberries wet stones fresh roses and sweet sage. Medium-bodied it?s approachable up front and balanced with refined tension through the mid-palate fine tannins and refreshing acidity. Weightless with good ripeness it?s long on the palate and has a lasting perfume of dried apricot. Absolutely lovely it?s going to offer a wide drinking window over the next 15 or so years. The 2020 Barolo Villero offers up blue fruit lavender spice mint new leather and grilled herbs. Brisk acids and veins of tannin confer freshness. It will be interesting to see if the 2020 softens in bottle. Today it is decidedly nervous. Showing more tobacco leather cranberry and freshly-tilled soil this is a bolder style of Nebbiolo. The Oddero 2020 Barolo Villero has an interlude of sweet cherry and plump fruit but then it veers toward tart fruit flavors followed by fine powdery tannins.
