The 2020 Estate Syrah Les Titans has a medium ruby-purple color and gregarious aromas of cassis menthol and bitter chocolate plus wafts of blueberry. The full-bodied palate has a dense core of fruit with a light charry woodsmoke-like character slightly chewy tannins and a gently rustic finish. It's more savory than usual and may have been impacted by the challenges of the vintage. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Published: Jun 15 2023
The 2020 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard offers up sweet red cherry kirsch orange zest and spice. There?s lovely inner perfumed and sweetness naturally within the restrained style of the vintage. In 2020 the Savoy is not quite as exuberant as it is most years but it is impeccably balanced. - By Antonio Galloni on January 2023 I tasted many Peay wines during my last visit and the months preceding. The Peay team led by brothers Andy and Nick Peay and winemaker Vanessa Wong turned out an absolutely brilliant set of 2021s. Every wine is a joy to taste. The wines are fresh vibrant and delineated starting with a Viognier that is terrific and also avoids some of the angularity I felt was at times penalizing in the past. As always the various Estate wines are thematic cuvées instead of single vineyard or single block wines. In 2021 the selections are especially well-defined and distinctive. The 2020s products of a much more challenging vintage are also very good except the Syrah La Bruma which is a pretty awkward wine.
