Lisini's 2008 Brunello di Montalcino Ugolaia hits the palate with huge dark fruit incense tobacco smoke grilled herbs licorice and game. Ample and structured on the palate the 2008 is a wine for the cellar. Today the tannins are imposing but there is plenty to look forward to. Dried rose petals game incense orange peel and white pepper are some of the notes that are laced into the expressive finish. Stylistically the 2008 is likely to always be burly and a bit round around the edges but its beauty is undeniable. - By Antonio Galloni on February 2015

A very elegant and silky wine with plum chocolate almond and hazelnut character. Medium to full body. Dense core of fruit and pretty wood. Always a fabulous single vineyard Brunello. Drink or hold.

The sweet cherry and plum fruit is enhanced by licorice spice and tar notes in this vibrant red. Wild herb elements chime in on the finish. Overall this is balanced and sinewy with fine length. Best from 2016 through 2028. 700 cases made 350 cases imported.
